Cynthia Ann Crawford (born February 20, 1966) is an American model and actress as well as a television star. In the 80s and 90s, she was a renowned supermodel and was a regular on magazines and runways and also in fashion shows. Later, she ventured into acting and started a business. She was contacted in her sophomore year from a local clothes shop asking her to model. It was viewed as an attempt to make fun of two of her classmates. However, the following year, another company recruited a variety of high school students, including Crawford who was hired to take on their work (including the fashion shoot). Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to photograph her. He was responsible for the photo shoot of another college student for DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was chosen as the first cover. Crawford was inspired to continue modeling based on the positive comments and pictures she received. She began working for a tiny agency. Elite Model Management sold the agency shortly after she signed. At 17 years old she was a participant in Elite's Look of the Year contest and made it to the national finals.
