Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American musician and rapper making sly songs that addressed issues such as racial and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood her career, she could release a number of songs. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents within Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came through trumpet. In addition to classical and jazz, the young Nora started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. In school, she concentrated on women's studies and journalism. She was also a student of Mandarin briefly in Beijing. Not until after graduation did her focus shift to music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also contained also were viral songs like Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$. The song was specifically linked to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her 2015 travel guide. In addition to having published a book, her other career was singing. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land her first major role in a number of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
